Wyoming School Funding Recalibration
Picus Odden & Associates, in partnership with Augenblick, Palaich and Associates, Inc. (APA Consulting) and Activate Research are working with the Wyoming Legislative Service Office and the Wyoming Legislature’s Select Committee on Recalibration. Our team brings together decades of experience in conducing school finance adequacy studies and has led four previous recalibration efforts since 2005. Using the Evidence-Based Model of school finance adequacy, our model reviews research on programs that are successful in helping all students succeed in meeting state performance standards. In Wyoming we have used this approach to estimate the cost of providing the Educational Basket of Goods and Services.
Throughout this process, the research team has convened multiple Professional Judgement Panels (PJPs) to gather insights from Wyoming’s educational stakeholders on the strengths and limitations of the current funding model. In October, representatives from Picus Odden & Associates and APA Consulting will return to Wyoming to facilitate four additional PJPs.
These sessions will be focused on reviewing the emerging recommendations for changes to the Evidence-Based Model, as well as address topics of interest that have emerged through this work, including SROs and food service.
Please sign up for one of the four sessions listed below using this form. Participants will receive specific location details following registration. If you are unable to attend an in-person session, four additional virtual sessions will also be convened in November.
