Great Oaks Foundation - Accelerate ROI Study

Prepared for the Great Oaks Foundation in 2023

APA Consulting’s (APA) evaluation team conducted a site visit to Great Oaks Charter New York City at the end of February 2023. The purpose of this site visit was to conduct a cost study of the Great Oaks Fellowship Program in its New York City charter school location.

The focus of this study was to answer two key research questions:

1. What are the resources, ingredients, and costs needed to implement the Fellowship Program in a school that receives Great Oaks Fellows?

2. An exploratory research question also focused on gathering data on potential added value that accrues to schools that receive Great Oaks Fellows

Based on its site visit, the APA team identified three key areas for its cost analysis in relation to the school’s participation in the GO Fellows program:

1. Direct costs to the school;

2. Opportunity costs to school staff; and

3. Value added to the school by its participation in the program.
